Hamilton was a Broadway show that opened for its first performance in 2015. For the first seven months of its run, the musical was sold out. It even won several awards  at the Tony Awards (the highest honor in musical theatre), one award being for "Best Musical of 2017". A filmed version of the Broadway musical was released on Disney + in 2020.
