Ava was falling asleep in her math class. She couldn't keep her eyes open no matter how hard she tried. As she slipped into sleep, she thought to herself that it wasn't her fault! She had gone to bed at her normal time but everything tried to keep her up last night - and had succeeded to do so!

        At first, her little brother had a nightmare and Ava needed to calm him down before she could send him back to bed. Then, her family's dogs started barking at the neighbor's cats. They barked for nearly fifteen minutes and Ava couldn't fall asleep easily after that. Finally, she thought she was cleared to fall asleep but - no - the teenagers that lived next door pulled up in their cars, playing loud bass music, waking up half of the neighborhood. It had been an extremely long night.
       Ava tried to wake herself up many times, but couldn't.
