Cause and Effect 3

There were many mistakes made on the night the Titanic sank that led to her sinking to the bottom of the ocean. One of those mistakes was that the Titanic was going too fast. Since the owner of the Titanic, J.B. Ismay, wanted to break a speed record, he asked Captain Smith to go as fast as he could. This only made it harder to stop when they saw the iceberg.

Another mistake was that the Officer in charge at the time told his men to turn the Titanic when they saw the iceberg. This led to the Titanic's hull getting a huge rip on the side. Many historians believe that if the Titanic had hit the iceberg head-on, then it could have stayed afloat! But the turn doomed the ship.
