Population is the number of people living somewhere. In this case, it's the number
of people living in the Midwest Region of the United States.
The population of the Midwest Region is small compared to some of the other regions of the United States. As of 2020, there were about 65 million people in the region. Illinois is the most populated state in this region with 12.7 million people.
North Dakota is a large state but only has around 770,000 people living in it! North and South Dakota have some of the lowest populations in the United States, especially when looking at how much space is actually available in each state!
There are many resources in this region that the people use to do or make something.
