Desert lands are areas found in the Southwest Region that are very hot during the day and are very cold at night. Deserts get very little water over the year. There are very few plants and trees and the ground is usually dry or sandy. Two of the deserts in this region are the Sonoran Desert and the Chihuahua Desert.
